Release 10.1A: OpenEdge Deployment:
WebClient Applications
Defining the application with the WebClient Application Assembler
With the WebClient Application Assembler, you create a WebClient project file (
.wcpfile), a definition of the latest version of an application. After building the project file, you generate a set of deployment files for this latest version. These generated deployment files are placed in a version-specific directory under an output directory that you specify. You use the WebClient Application Assembler to perform the following tasks:
- Create a new project file.
- Modify an existing project file.
Note: To modify only details of the deployment configuration—for example, the location of the application codebase—use the WebClient Deployment Packager, rather than regenerating the deployment files with the Deployment Packager. For more information, see the "Customizing a deployment configuration with the WebClient Deployment Packager" section.- Generate all files necessary for installing and updating a WebClient application.
